L'Astra 6700 offre à ses futurs utilisateurs des attributs particulièrement intéressants: une haute résolution, une grande vitesse et surtout une interface USB 2.0. L'USB 2.0 permet d'augmenter la vitesse des taux de transfert de données. Ainsi, les temps de numérisation de l'Astra 6700 réduisent considérablement. De plus, afin de faciliter son utilisation, l'Astra 6700 a été conçu avec 3 boutons d'accès direct: Scan, Copie et Email. En sélectionnant l'un de ces boutons d'accès, le document numérisé, sera directement envoyé vers l'application correspondante.

The Innovative Umax Scanner –

3 Seconds Preview with USB 2.0

In June 2002 Umax will announce the Astra 6700,

a powerful 2400 x 4800 dpi, 48 bit scanner with

the innovative USB 2.0 interface, making it one of

fastest scanner on the market.

The data transfer rate is 40 times faster than USB 1.1. Only 3 seconds and the preview is

complete. Furthermore USB 2.0 is an upgrade of the USB standard and downward

compatible. Existing cables and interfaces can be used further on, but with less data transfer.

The Astra 6700 is compatible with Windows 98 / 2000 / Me / XP. For Mac users a

PhotoShop Plug-In is included.

Transparencies and negatives can be digitized with the optional transparency cover (TPU-

6700), up to 10.1 x 12.7 cm size. Efficient workflow is made possible using the E-Mail, Scan

and Copy buttons on the front panel of the scanner. Pictures can be scanned directly to an

image editing program and attached to an E-Mail or printed.

There is also a great software bundled included. MGI PhotoSuite III SE for Image Editing,

ScanSoft Textbridge as well as ABBYY FineReader Sprint for the optical character

recognition and PaperCom Document Manager.

Due to the resolution of 2400 x 4800 dpi, 48 bit color depth and extremly fast scans

because of USB 2.0, the Astra 6700 is ideal for those with high demands, also for

scanning transparencies with the optional transparency unit TPU-6700 in good quality.

The design and the extensive software package completes this very attractive package.
