It's quite hard to understand you.

What 's your problem ? Use MSN Messenger and reach IPCOP ? IPCOP is not like a "MSN server" !

I suppose your problem is to use MSN Messenger (from a Windows XP computer) and reach the "MSN community".

Usually with an IPCOP, the subject is how to block this kind of traffic (or similar kind of traffic : Skype, P2P, Instant messaging, ...). This job is enough difficult to do because this kind of sotfware use some tips to reach servers thru any kind of equipement (routeur, NAT, firewall, ...). In fact if you can block at a moment thsi traffic, the next version of software use newer tips and can connect.

So if you block everything, you block MSN messenger. And if you enable the https/https traffic, MSN messenger can be run from any (windows) computer inside your lan.

The efficient rule for blocking MSN messenger is to block everything. And I can suppose that's not your aim.

So I'm suprise, if you can reach any web server (google ?), you can use MSN messenger.

Please consider to add more informations, if you want more replies.
