De la Swap toujours plus de swap

Bonjour à tous,

Au début j’avais 64Mo de SD, mon site ramait et j'avais 125Mo max de swap.
Ensuite j'ai rajouté 128Mo de SD, maintenant mon site ne ramait plus mais j'ai quand même 100Mo de Swap utilisée ...

J'ai lu dans un discussion, sur ce forum, qu'on considéré que le système ne manquait pas de mémoire quand la Swap était inférieur à 30% de la mémoire vive, ce qui n'est pas mon cas avec mes plus de 50% …

Donc m'a question est ce que je peux espérer un gain de performance non négligeable si je rajoute encore de la RAM, sachant que le serveur ne fait que serveur HTTP ?

bonjour

deja à mon avis ça ne sert a rien de rajouter encore de la SD; il est preferable de cerner le probleme et de le resoudre car tu as une config suffisament performante pour du HTTP

(verifie toutefois ça ici :http://www.sme-fr.homelinux.net/materiel.php en fonction de tes postes utilisateurs ... on sait jamais ...)

peux tu nous envoyer une liste de tes process en cours avec la memoire utilisé (top , ps ...)

Reboot hier soir donc je n'en suis qu'à 64M de swap mais ca va continuer à monter jusqu'à 100.

Pour le PS avec quel paramètre ?

ça me parrait bizarre que ta swap monte comme ça surtout aussi lentement pour ensuite se stabiliser à 100 M.

le mieux c'est que tu regardes avec un ps -aux et un top au debut de ton demarrage et une fois que ta swap s'est stabilisé afin de voir les changements de process et de te fixer sur le ou les process qui sont en cause.

Avoir autant de process apache pour si peu d'utilisateurs me parraît démesuré.

tu peux nous donner les valeurs de :
MaxClients
MinSpareServers
MaxSpareServers
StartServers

dans ton httpd.conf ?

a mon avis il faut largement réduire ces valeurs, car il me semble qu'avec ces valeurs à 10 il faut environ 500Mo de mémoire.

Si vous avez des conseils d'optimisation je suis preneur.

Pour moins de dix utilisateurs, ça parraîtra un peu violent, mais je mett(erais) :

StartServers 1
MinSpareServers 1
MaxSpareServers 2
MaxClients 150

Sur une faible machine en plus j'ai remarqué que StartServers à 2 ralentit vraiment les temps de réponses, et un seul process apache encaisse bien.

A tester de toute façon pour optimiser selon la machine, ces valeurs ne sont pas figées, ni négligeables pour les performances.

PS: Pour que les test soient constructifs, il vaut mieux rebooter la machine à chaque changement de valeurs, pour que le swap soit clean, et ainsi voir si cela augmente (car avec un kernel 2.4 le swap ne se libère pas)
