About the Ultra Enterprise 150 Server
The Ultra Enterprise 150 Server is an integrated workgroup server system with a CPU/memory system board, an associated peripheral subsystem, and RAID-capable internal disk bays packaged together in a single enclosure. For today's busy workgroups, the Ultra Enterprise 150 Server is Sun's most economical solution.
The Ultra Enterprise 150 Server provides two Ethernet ports, one of them capable of implementing the 100BASE-TX "fast Ethernet" protocol. When you connect both Ethernet ports, you can use the Ultra Enterprise 150 Server as a gateway or router.
Product Features
The Ultra Enterprise 150 Server has the following features:
167-MHz UltraSPARC(TM) I processor with 0.5 Mbytes of Level 2 cache
Up to 512 Mbytes of system memory with 64Mbyte modules, or 1 Gigabyte of system memory with 128Mbyte modules.
Two serial ports (for use as a terminal port or concentrator)
Parallel port
Two available SBus slots
Two Ethernet ports
· One 10BASE-T port
· One switchable 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX port
Internal peripheral subsystem
· 2-Gbyte hard disk drive
· Diskette drive
· CD-ROM drive
Internal disk bay subsystem that supports up to twelve 1-inch 2-Gigabyte SCSI disk drives, devoted entirely to your data
LCD/LED display for status messages
Configurations
The Ultra Enterprise 150 Server is offered "configured-to-order" with 0 to 512 Mbytes of system memory (using 64-Mbyte DSIMMs), 0 to 24 Gigabytes of internal hard disk space (using 2-Gigabyte bay disks), and other options.
Options
These internal options are available for the Ultra Enterprise 150 Server:
A 4-mm DAT tape drive
Up to two additional SBus cards
Additional memory
Internal disk bay drives (as many as twelve)
External options usually require SBus interface cards. Each Ultra Enterprise 150 Server has two SBus slots for system expansion.
A bitmapped display is not necessary for normal server operation and many servers do not have monitors. However, an alphanumeric terminal can be connected to the server as a console to display system messages and power-on self-test (POST) diagnostic results. Once the server is running in auto-boot mode, the terminal can be removed.
If you do want bitmapped display, TGX frame buffer cards are supported. ·
