LAN goes off in RedHat ES3

hi, Please help me ...
I have a RedHat ES3 installed on my server, every thing is ok ...
but if disconnect the lan cable, from the lan card, and i reconnect the cable, the network is not working : no ping and LEDs are OFF.

if i restart the server its ok.

what is the problem? a bug?

it is an integrated lan card on an HP proliant 370 G4

If you have ifplugd installed, edit the ifplugd.conf file to check that your interface is specified in it.
If you find an 'auto' value in that file, you should replace it by the name of your interface.

Don't forget to restart ifplugd daemon, and play with your wire to test your conf.

un merci pour arapaho, ifplugd n est pas installé sur mon système. a votre avis dois je l'installer et proceder à son parametrage? sinon que dois je faire?

Non pas besoin d'installer ifplugd. Par contre tu peux également vérifier de quelle manière est déclarée eth0 dans le fichier de conf des interfaces.

Dans les distributions qui se respectent, c'est /etc/network/interfaces. Peut-être est-ce le cas sur une RHES ?

Bref, vérifie que ta carte est déclarée en auto, et pas en allow-hotplug ou autre.
